Dr Amal Fatani

Dr Amal Fatani holds a PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The University of Strathclyde, UK. Prior to her PhD, Dr Fatani obtained both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Pharmacology & Toxicology, Pharmacy College, King Saudi University KSA. Amal is the Vice President of “The All Women Business Process & IT Services Center, Riyadh, KSA, set up by Saudi Aramco and Joint venture between TATA Consultancy Services and General Electric, where she helped grow it from less than 400 to almost 1000 female employees as of 2018.
Dr Amal collaborated with Ministry of Economy & Planning, Ministry of Labour & Social Development, Ministry of Communication and IT & Ministry of Health, to support Saudi Vision 2030. Dr Amal Fatani is a Board Member of Saudi Human Rights Commission and has represented during the last year Saudi Arabia at UN High Commission for Human Rights in Geneva, the Arab League in Bahrain and the Commission for status of Women at the United Nation in New York, as well as regularly meeting International Delegations and Ambassadors at the Commission & other events. She is a Board Member of King Abdulaziz and his companions foundation for giftedness and creativity “Mawhiba” and previously a consultant & reviewer. Dr Amal is a member of the International Affairs Advisory Committee at Al Faisal University, and previously a founding board member of Saudi Research Science Institute at King Abdullah University for Science and Technology.
Her previous roles include Consultant & General Supervisor of Female Affairs at the Ministry of Higher Education, after spending 2 years as General Supervisor of Female Sections in All Sectors at the Ministry. She supported faculty & students in and out of the Country, set up the Annual Leaders in Higher Education Institutes Forum, participated in a variety of National Committees & represented the Ministry in several International Events. Prior to the Ministry, Dr Amal held several positions in King Saud University (KSU). She was from the first female Pharmacy graduates in KSA and post attainment of her PhD was appointed Vice Chair Person of Pharmacology & Toxicology Department, going on to become first female Vice Dean of College of Pharmacy, then serving as the first Female Dean of the nine Scientific and Medical Colleges, where she worked with the Rector, Deputies, Deans of Male Colleges to build a unified strategic plan for gaining accreditation, higher global ranking, and implementing best International Practises in Higher Education & Academic Industry Collaborative Programs.
